Taiwanese machine tool builders exhibited a smart automated aluminum rim production line to attract buyers to watch.

With the arrival of the global industry 4.0 era, the Taiwan machinery industry has been advancing in the field of smart machinery and smart manufacturing under the leadership of TAMI in recent years. From 2015, we have been named “the Year of launch for smart machinery”, and we have vowed to promote the smart machinery. By 2016 we have entered the “Smart Machinery Action Year”. In 2017, the “Smart Machinery Integration Year” and by 2018, the Year with a Trillion NTD Production Value Record, in 2019 we will promote the cloud manufacturing. Moreover, at TIMTOS 2019 in this March, many Taiwan exhibitors have presented their smart machine tools and customized production lines. TAMI Chairman Ko Pa-Hsi pointed out that due to the fruitful successes of Taiwan’s research and development of smart machinery, it will help Taiwan’s machinery production value reach NT$2 trillion in the next 10 years and turn Taiwan into a global smart machinery manufacturing kingdom!

Ko said that the Industry 4.0 revolution was initiated by Germany, but only global enterprises have the ability and resources to develop smart manufacturing. Nevertheless, the smart manufacturing has become a national movement in Taiwan, covering a wide range of industries including machine tools, plastic machinery, textile machinery, woodworking machinery, shoemaking machinery and key components. These progresses and results are getting better and better, and many manufacturers have received orders from the international buyers, and then enter the harvest stage. This is really an amazing and extraordinary achievement!Ko said that the Industry 4.0 revolution was initiated by Germany, but only global enterprises have the ability and resources to develop smart manufacturing. In order to assist Taiwan’s smart machinery to accelerate its development, and reach targets of “connecting thousands of machines to the cloud” and” 2 trillion NTD for annual production”, TAMI has published the “White Paper for Taiwan Smart Machinery Industry” in August 2018, setting out the short-term, medium-term and long-term goals for the development of Taiwan’s smart machinery. Our short-term goal is to make new and old machines able to network. Following TAMI’s cooperation with the government in 2018 to install 1,300 SMB to the machine tools, this year, it will expand and help another 1,500 machines. In addition, the medium-term goal is to accelerate the development of sensors and machinery clouds, and Taiwan is now in this stage. The long-term goals are finishing the analysis and application of big data, the development of new business models such as smart machinery and production, and strengthen the production efficiency and management capabilities of Taiwan’s machinery industry. In this way, the Taiwanese machinery industry will be fully upgraded to Industry 4.0.In order to assist Taiwan’s smart machinery to accelerate its development, and reach targets of “connecting thousands of machines to the cloud” and” 2 trillion NTD for annual production”, TAMI has published the “White Paper for Taiwan Smart Machinery Industry” in August 2018, setting out the short-term, medium-term and long-term goals for the development of Taiwan’s smart machinery.
