This temporary interruption serves to protect the health of employees, customers, partners and suppliers as well as to safeguard employment. The shutdown applies from 1- 30 April 2020.
“The current situation requires a strong joint effort,” commented Christian Thönes, chairman of the DMG Mori Aktiengesellschaft Executive Board. “We are all working together to overcome this unprecedented situation and our agreement on short-time work allows us to proceed in an orderly manner.
In order to emerge from this difficult phase even stronger, we will continue to advance our progress in the field of digitisation. Our way of working is changing and this is being accelerated by the outbreak of the Coronavirus.”
Thomas Reiter, chairman of the DMG Mori Works Council added: “The corona crisis has intensified considerably in recent weeks and we stand united in these difficult times. As works council, it is important to us to protect the health of all employees and secure jobs during this phase.
“The extent, duration and negative consequences of the Coronavirus for the economy and industry as a whole are not yet foreseeable. DMG Mori is making a further contribution to the fight against Covid-19 with the temporary interruption of production to secure employment. In a phase that has seen demand decreasing, many companies are stopping production and risks in the supply chains are increasing.”
He continued: “DMG Mori will do everything in its power to maintain customer support, sales and service. In addition, managing directors and managers are available at any time. The Executive Board, management and works council have agreed jointly on measures for a rapid resumption of production and assembly as well as sales and service as soon as health protection and demand allow. We will continue to be a strong and reliable partner for customers even in the current situation.”
