Goldwind launches digital platform products

Oct 16, 2015

CHINA: Goldwind has launched two digital platforms to aid site selection and provide climate information for proposed project sites.

China used its 18,000 turbines to collect climate data for the FreeMeso platform

The FreeMeso platform is based on data collected by Goldwind's 2,000 wind measurement towers and nearly 18,000 turbines.

The free-to-use, publically accessible wind energy service is a 3D platform with high resolution maps and high accuracy depiction of wind resources.

It can be used to select wind farm site at the preliminary wind resources assessment stage.

The second platform is called WindUnified. It showcases Goldwind's ability to fine-tune the selection of a wind farm site.

Through a series of calculations with small- or medium-sized models, users can learn more accurately the amount of wind energy that can be exploited at rotor height, without having to use other resources to find out.

This is a set of professional, easy-to-use management tools that will prove invaluable in wind farm planning, wind measurement operation, wind resources assessment and generating capacity evaluation, according to the company.
