PCIM Asia 2017 confirms high level of expert’s platform for power electronics in Asia

PCIM Asia 2017 closed its doors after three successful days: With 81 exhibitors and 7,000 squaremeters in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center, Asia’s leading exhibition and conference about power electronics was once more a popular platform for power electronic experts.

During the three exhibition days from 27 – 29 June 2017 a total of 5,621 trade visitors from all over the world informed themselves about latest trends and developments of the industry. The exhibition is for many people again an important market place as well as a knowledge and networking platform on a high level:

“(…) PCIM Asia itself is one of the leading platforms within the field and has a reputation for being extremely professional, which is exactly why I visit the event year after year,” says Ye Chen, Principal Engineer, Shanghai Huahong Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation.

“(…) Through interaction with exhibitors, I have had an update on the industry’s trends and developments. (…) Overall, the event has provided a window encouraging information free-flow across the sector and thus providing us with more choices,” adds Zhou Kun, Engineer, Shanghai SAIC General Motors Co Ltd.

Industry meeting place not only for global players

Besides gobal players like CRRC, Danfoss, Fuji, Infineon, Power Integrations, Mitsubishi, Semikron, Silver Micro, Toshiba and Vincotech
also many small- and medium sized Chinese companies have been established at PCIM Asia and contributed to a successful mixture of the exhibition portfolios. Directly after the event, exhibitors reflect on a first positive balance: Anna Chai, Sales Operations Manager-China at Vincotech GmbH Shanghai Representative Office, summarizes after being an exhibitor at PCIM Asia for six years now:

“(…) Throughout the years of our participation, we have witnessed an increasing number of professional buyers year after year. What’s more, after presenting at the exhibitor’s forum, we noticed an increase of buyers visiting our booth.”

“(…) So far we are more than satisfied for the results and the quality of visitors. The show has once again proofed itself as the leading marketing platform for the Power Electronic sector. We are confident that we will be returning in the 2018 edition,” explains Liu Jiale, Sales Engineer, Hangzhou Firstack Technology Co Ltd.

Conference: Lectures given by renowned experts convinced

Likewise, the conference reported with 352 participants good figures. The highlights of the conference included the two keynote presentations on "Hybrid Renewable Energy Standalone Systems“ by Prof. Ambrish Chandra, ETS, Canada, and "The Characteristics of Advanced Power Electronics Devices for High Performance Power Converters“ by Prof. Xiangning He, Zhejiang University, China. The conference presentations focused on the topics renewable energy and e-mobility.
