The annual “Energy Taiwan” sets to run from October 14th to 16th, 2020 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall I features four major themes - solar photovoltaics, wind energy, hydrogen energy and fuel cells, and smart energy storage. More than ten thousand buyers from home and abroad are expected to visit the exhibition. With various seminars also scheduled to be held during the show, “Energy Taiwan” – the one and only B2B platform that shows the entire renewable energy ecosystem of Taiwan looks forward to seeing important industry players from all over the world.

Taiwan's Geographical Advantages for Renewable Energy Development
Due to its subtropical latitude and climatic conditions, as well as its sunshine duration, Taiwan has many things it takes to develop the photovoltaic (PV) industry. In combined with its good foundation in the semiconductor and optoelectronic industries, and rich experiences in cultivating professional talents and manufacturing management, it explains why Taiwan’s solar photovoltaic industry has been growing rapidly and has become the world’s second largest solar cell manufacturing country; and through advanced technology it is also steering the industry in the direction of becoming a highly value-added and different one with systemic development. According to the international market research institute 4C Offshore, out of the top 20 best offshore wind farms in the world, Taiwan is gifted to have 16 of them and therefore in a very good place to develop wind power. Taiwan government is working closely with the industry, the academia and research institutes to bring all the resources together, and is launching the offshore wind power national team ‘Wind-Team International Co-operative Alliance’ and the ‘Marine-Team’ on offshore wind power marine engineering in the hope to establish Taiwan's wind power ecosystem.

With the World’s Most Influential Companies Committed to Renewable Energy, Taiwan Sets to be “Asia’s Center of Green Energy”
Global technology giants, such as Facebook, Google, Apple and Microsoft have joined the RE100 global initiative, aiming to go 100% renewable by 2050. Taiwan’s leading semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is also one of them, showing that the energy transition is a shared goal of the international community. Following this global trend, Taiwan government announced its six core strategic industries (green energy and renewable energy industries included) and actively pushes forward related energy transition work. Driven by solar and wind energy industries, Taiwan is sparing no efforts in promoting its ‘greening’ policy and tries to make Taiwan the “Asian Green Energy Center”. This year, “Renewable Energy Week” will once again be held in tandem with “Energy Taiwan” that will highlight the development and achievements of special municipalities and local governments in implementing renewable energy projects.

Backed by an All-star Lineup of Companies, “Energy Taiwan” is the Largest Event in the Energy Industry
Focusing on solar photovoltaics, wind energy, hydrogen energy and fuel cells, and smart energy storage, “Energy Taiwan 2020” will be joined by YSOLAR, TSEC, Motech, AUO, Win Win Precision Technology, Sysgration, Taya Group, Mobiletron, Swancor renewable energy (SWE), Ørsted, EnBW Asia Pacific, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm (Project). It is literally a complete energy industry chain one cannot see anywhere other than this show. No wonder “Energy Taiwan” is also the most favored platform for the heavyweight exhibitors to announce their latest products or to enhance their brand exposure.

Online Activities to Bring up Business Opportunities in the Renewable Energy Industry
A social distance became a must after the conoravirus pandemic spread across the world this year. It was under this kind of circumstance that long-distance activities were put on the center stage. To spice up energy industry exchanges and business opportunities, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) launched the “Taiwan Trade Shows (TTS) Insights” online series, and the episode in July brought the attention to the green industry and the representatives from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan Wind Energy Association, Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm and TSEC were invited to talk about the development of renewable energy, its potential of becoming a trillion dollars (NTD) industry and opportunities that might arise from the perspectives of research institutions, industry associations, foreign investors, and local Taiwanese manufacturers.

Online sourcing meetings will also be held where the local companies can connect with important buyers put together by the 63 overseas offices of TAITRA in “real time”, hoping it will lead to further cooperation in the future. Those who are interested are welcome to register and visit “Energy Taiwan” to grasp new business opportunities in ‘energy creation’, ‘energy storage’
