The Hardware World Eagerly Awaits: Taiwan Hardware Show

Oct 12, 2020

As the one and only hardware and hand tools trade show taking place this year, the three-day Taiwan Hardware Show (THS) will soon kick off on 13th October at the Taichung International Exhibition Center. More than 400 exhibitors are expected to showcase their latest product lines that would catch the eye of the global hardware industry. The event this year has joined forces with another leading trade show—the International Metal Technology Taiwan, or iMT Taiwan—to fully demonstrate the nation’s metal prowess, covering materials, equipment and products across the entire supply chain ecosystem. The synergies from the twin events are expected to deliver ever impressive results and give momentum for post-COVID industrial growth.
According to the organizer Kaigo, Taiwan’s success in fighting COVID-19, as well as lasting impact of US-China trade disputes on the global supply chain, have prompted global businesses to take a fresh new look at the key role played by Taiwanese suppliers across the value chain. As the current global situation provides tailwinds for Taiwan’s industry, this year’s trade show offers a wonderful opportunity for businesses in the hardware, hand tools and metal industry to gear up for post-COVID economic recovery, and demonstrate themselves to be reliable and trustworthy partners for global mnufaturers.

Industry Forum: Insights on Trends Shaping the Future
The Industry Forum is a session well-received among attendees every year at THS. This year, the forum focuses on post-COVID economic outlook, shifts in the global supply chain caused by the US-China trade war, as well as technology innovation, digitization and smart manufacturing. The prominent speaker lineup includes: Kao Cheng-Shu, Chair of Board of Trustees of Feng Chia University; Liu Yen-Po, Executive Vice President of KPMG Taiwan, Dr. Hsu Yu-Jui, industry expert from the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) and more. These experts will share their latest research and insights that inspire new thinking for the future. During the event, the China Productivity Center, along with MIRDC, will provide “digital transformation health check” services and consultancy services on digital manufacturing for SME manufacturers, helping businesses kickstart their transformation and upgrading initiatives.
Exciting Program to Gear up for 2021
According to Kaigo, THS this year comes with a rich program and ever more excitement, as Taiwan’s COVID-19 success story has drawn global attention to its critical place in the global supply chain. During the preparation stage, a number of international companies had expressed interest in attending the trade show by sending their Taiwan-based purchasing specialists and trade partners for the event, and by joining online matchmaking meetings to find the right contact. Impacted by the pandemic, many Taiwanese business owners operating in China have also shown high interest in joining the event in person to look for new products and prospective partners.
As the global economy is projected to recover next year, Kaigo has announced that THS 2021 will also take place during October 13-15, closely followed by the renowned Canton Fair, and will soon launch exhibition packages to appeal to international buyers. During this year’s event, Kaigo will also announce the exhibitor package deals for THS 2021, in an effort to support local suppliers in expanding their global footprint.
To ensure a safe and healthy environment for all attendees, Kaigo will follow preventative measures released by the Central Epidemic Command Center, helping businesses prepare for the post-COVID industry boom. Open to all who are interested, THS is the premium platform to get the latest information on Taiwan’s top-quality metal product and services, and identify promising business opportunities.
