Everything Necessary for More Efficiency in the Sheet Metal Processing Sequence

One stop information, one stop communication, one stop procurement tour – as recently announced, in their new, updated layout the Blechexpo/Schweisstec international trade fairs for sheet metal processing and joining technologies unite the fields of sheet metal, pipe and profile processing, as well as thermal and mechanical joining and off-the-coil production technologies. For many visitors, this results in useful synergy effects which can be applied immediately in actual practice – because the customer trend is plainly going away from suppliers of all sizes who process sheet metal and other materials, and is moving inexorably towards complete solutions from a single source. In plain English this means concentration on just a few suppliers who offer accordingly higher levels of performance, as well as technology partners who will have to have the necessary equipment and above all qualified personnel at their disposal, in order to stand up to the competition in the long run.

Expressed in other terms, stamping and bending specialists will supplement their portfolios to include laser technologies, laser job-shops will expand into bending and forming technology and, just like the above mentioned service providers, manufacturers of stamped products will supplement their operations with thermal and mechanical joining technologies – and all will strive to put an end to their existences as replaceable suppliers and to be respected by their customers as competent, know-how oriented technology partners. The logical consequence will be increased investment in machinery, tooling, auxiliary equipment and qualified personnel on the one hand. On the other hand, these efforts will be confronted by a growing lack of qualified personnel, which not least due to the encouragement of their clientele will animate the manufacturers of machines and peripheral equipment to make their systems and solutions fit for simple, and above all flexible operation by trained personnel through the inclusion of more intelligence and automation.

Progress in this direction is unmistakeable and it should be made available to the market as quickly as possible, which is also made apparent by the rapidly growing number of registrations being submitted by manufacturers and distributors for the trade fair duo for process sequences including Blechexpo and Schweisstec. Only eight months have passed since the last, highly successful Blechexpo/Schweisstec took place and 16 months remain until the next, and nearly 5400 companies – mostly return exhibitors – have already booked floor space. In addition to this there are currently more than 30 concrete RFQs from new exhibitors who see the technical event in Stuttgart with its strict practical alignment as the ideal platform for presenting their products and services, and definitely want to participate.

With rounded out product and service offerings, as well as clear-cut positioning of the Blechexpo and Schweisstec trade fairs, the concept for the presentation of integrated process sequences is once again underscored, which provides users / expert visitors with complete product and information offerings. More than 32,000 expert visitors from nearly 100 countries came to the last event, and even more are expected at the next edition because the synergetic focal points open out into a consistent process sequence.
