AUTO EXPO MYANMAR 2014 sees 18.5% visitor growth!

Record size, visitors and biz in a mkt primed for take-off

Auto diplomacy joins the parts & 2 great nations!

Taiwan diplomacy comes in many shades, shapes and strategies and that came across best at the TWTC-organized hat fielded the best auto parts for a nation discovering the joys of motoring.

MYANMAR 2014 chalked up a full slate of records during its four days (July 18 to 21) by drawing a record number visitors, exhibitors, products and business. More than 8,100 visitors braved the persistent monsoon rains to see the show, an 18.5% growth on last year.

Buyers representing every part of Asia came from Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Show-day and follow up show-generated business is now projected to exceed US$25 million to surpass last year by 10%.

Asia came together in four days with 120 exhibitors from eight nations, namely Taiwan, the USA, United Kingdom, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Myanmar and Malaysia. They showcased 2,500 products across 150 booths. Many of the world’s best companies exhibited at this event. They included SONAR AUTO PARTS CO. (automotive lighting), EAGLE EYES TRAFFIC INDUSTRIAL CO. (auto lamps, aftermarket performance lamps), HULANE ASSOCIATE INC. (automotive connectors and terminals), CYCLO INDUSTRIES, INC., USA (lubricants, car care products and service chemicals), ELIG BRAKE INDUSTRIAL CO. (brake pads, shoes and clutches) and HWA FONG RUBBER IND. CO. (bicycle and motorcycle tires) and many more!

The Opening Ceremony alone saw hundreds in the audience welcome to the podium Mr. U Saw Tun Awng Myint, Minister of the Karen Ethnic Minority of the Yangon Region Government, Mr. U Wing Aung, President of Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and Mr. U Aung Min, Secretary General of Myanmar Industries Association.

Specially flown into the show were 100-plus awarded products to embellish the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion. Awarded companies included CHINA MOTOR, DEPO AUTO PARTS, KENDA RUBBER, MOTIVE POWER and AEON MOTOR.

At the show, CHINA MOTOR Vice General Manager Te Jun Lo was joined by U Saw Tun Awng Myint, Minister of the Karen Ethnic Minority of the Yangon Region Government to turn on CMC’s newest wonder car, the Veryca, while AEON MOTOR used the venue to display their latest three-wheeled motorcycle, the 3W Elite 250.

Moreover, many locals were WOWed by the Veryca, the 3-W Elite 250, SONAR AUTO PARTS’ Mercedes-Benz LED Lighting, HULANE ASSOCIATE’s newest automotive connectors and HWA FONG RUBBER’s latest road-gripping design tires.
