CHINAPLAS Promotes Greening and Automation of the Automotive Industry
While the automotive industry is accounting for an important part in the economic development for many countries, unfortunately it also leads to several problems as well. Wastage of resources, environmental pollution and so on, all these are problems that need to be solved urgently. The automotive industry is now increasing the attention to these issues: the ways to reduce vehicle's volatile organic compound (VOC) and weight; to increase the green automation in the production process; last but not least, to increase the automotive recycling rates. CHINAPLAS 2016 is not only a business platform, but also a place for the professionals to get together and share inspiration. The exhibition also dedicates to the automotive industry for providing more professional concepts with more insights in innovation, automation and green solutions.
Low-VOC Green Materials
Paints, interior decorations and leathers on cars release VOC which contain a variety of carcinogens. The serious impact on the environment and human health has been widely concerned. The advent of coating-free plastic products avoids the problem of generating massive amounts of VOC during the spray coating process.
Coating-free materials are colorful, and can appear as metal-like and crystal-like textures by one-time casting. As for short-life-cycle products, glamourous colors can help clients to cope with diversified and differentiated market demands. More importantly, coating-free materials are 100% recyclable, the overall cost is also cheaper than that of plastics.
Automotive companies favor this material as it can comply with environmental protection regulations, protect the health of workers and the cost is very low.
CHINAPLAS exhibitor Super-Dragon Engineering Plastic Co. Limited's coating-free automotive exterior PPSE6024 can be applied in bumpers, rocker panels, etc. The finished products have nice appearances with metal effects.
Another exhibitor, ECKART Asia Ltd, its SCONA TPPP 9212 GA is a highly effective adhesion modifier for polypropylene compounds with short and longglass fibers and fillers (ATH, Mg(OH)2, CaCO3) and polypropylene natural fiber compounds - even at a very low dosage. SCONA TPPP 9212 GA improves the mechanical properties of these compounds, especially in polypropylene natural fiber compounds.
New materials and new technologies accelerate the development of lightweight
To comply with new regulations and accelerate the development of lightweight automotive, the use of light-weight, high-performance alternative materials and new molding craftsmanship has become the mainstream.
LANXESS Chemical (China) Co., Ltd. is introducing the Polyamide plastic-metal composite technology. It reduces the weight of automotive front ends by up to 50 percent compared to metal-only components. This technology does an excellent job of uniting the weight reduction associated with plastics, and retaining the stability properties of metal. This solution is used in many car components such as pedal system, roof frame, front end, structural inserts. To date, roughly 100 production vehicles from leading automakers are using this technology.
Mucell injection molding process has become the focus in the automotive field in recent years. The technology breaks through many limitations in traditional injection methods. It can significantly reduce the weights of the parts, shorten the molding cycle, and greatly improve warping deformation and dimensional stability of the parts. Mucell injection molding process has great advantages in the manufacturing of sophisticated high-quality products and it is widely applied in the automotive industry. Zhejiang Kaihua Moulds Ltd will be introducing the Mucell injection molding of their 3,300T injection molding machine at the exhibition, directing the development of injection molding towards automation, which would benefit the production efficiency. The company even successfully developed 8 Mucell injection molding models of automobile dashboards.
Automation Solution
The progress of "Made in China 2025" implementation is accelerating; an intelligent manufacturing era is coming on. China Plastics Processing Industry Association President Qian Gui-Jing noted that digitalization, networklization and intellectualization are the important tasks of the coming five years, in order to lead to innovation development. As the trend changes, intelligent technology, which is inseparable from automation, has also received unprecedented attention at CHINAPLAS 2016.
During CHINAPLAS 2016, Adsale and VDMA (the German Engineering Federation) will co-organize the "Industry 4.0 Conference". The conference will focus on industrial automation setup from strategic concept to practical engineering. It will introduce the latest module optimization, system solutions, practical intelligent manufacturing plans, help manufacturers transform and upgrade, create opportunities, and build the intelligent future. Moreover, a large number of automated equipment applied in the plastics industry will be on display not only in the "Automation Technology Zone", but are also widely distributed in different halls, such as the Injection Molding Machinery Zone and Extrusion Machinery Zone.
Demag Plastics Machinery (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. will be at the Automation Technology Zone, together with the automation specialists from Germany, MAI, the experts of decorative film, Leonhard Kurz Stiftung company, and the plastics supplier HBW-Gubesch; they will firstly release the servo drive injection in Asia, which reflects the combination of complex structure of technology products and their decorative functions; the manufactures are not only lighter in weight, with more features, with better strength, with better appearance, but also reduce energy and material consumption during the manufacturing process. The system can be used in the semi-structured optical products within the automotive sector.
Guangdong Yizumi Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. will display its DP Series Two-platen Injection Molding Machine. It is tailor-made for manufacturing auto parts and other deep-cavity products, with large mold opening stroke, easy molding of products with deep cavities or complicated shapes, high clamping precision. The design is conforming to European Standards, with short length of the machine and occupies less area. With reliable linear support and guidance, little injection resistance, precise control and independent disassembly of the barrel unit
Synventive Molding Solutions rolls out the activeGate. It is a new tool-based molding technology that will help provide unprecedented control over the molding process and enable the production of higher quality parts than were previously attainable with traditional hot runner systems. For the manufacturing of a new seat backrest for AUDI, the conventional, weld line free cascade molding didn't yield satisfying results. There were gloss differences on the uncoated textured surface, caused by pressure alteration marks and opposite gating marks at the point of direct gating. By using SynFlow®, Hydraulic Two-Speed pin control technology for the flow control of plastic melt in cascade molding, these error patterns could be avoided.
Bringing together the world's cutting-edge plastics and rubber technologies, CHINAPLAS 2016 - the 30th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries, will be held on 25-28 April 2016, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, PR China. The exhibition area is over 240,000 sqm, gathering more than 3,300 exhibitors from over the world. Currently, some of the confirmed famous exhibitors include BASF, ExxonMobil, Clariant, Lanxess, Mitsui Chemicals, DSM, LG Chem, Evonik, Styrolution, Polyplastics, Teijin, Jushi, Sumitomo, Toray, Arburg, Demag, Engel, Fangli, Hotsys, Hasco, INglass, Mold-Masters, Ningbo Shuangma, Synventive, Yizumi, Yudo, Yuntianhua and Runipsys, etc.
